The second dialogue meeting
On 28th October 2021, we held the second project meeting with employees of institutions and organizations working for migrants and refugees in the West Pomeranian voivodeship. 25 people took part in it – representatives of state institutions (e.g. Regional Centre of Social Policy, Municipal Family Support Centre, city hall of Szczecin) and various organizations (e.g. Refugees Szczecin, Belarusians in Szczecin, a social initiative). Representatives of Caritas Poland, Consul of Ukraine, a Catholic parish and a Greek Catholic parish also participated in it. A four-hour meeting took the form of a discussion, which was opened by the Director of Caritas Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Szczecin-Kamień, priest Maciej Szmuc and PhD Beata Bugajska, the representative of the President of the City for equality.
The first part of the meeting focused on the presentation about the activities of the Migrant and Refugee Assistance Centre, and the subsequent parts were dedicated to three different practical topics. The first one was about legal matters related to the legal residence and work of non-EU foreigners during the COVID-19 pandemic (coordinated by the Border Guard representatives). The second topic revolved around a discussion about 500+ benefits for migrants and refugees. Last but not least, the third part of the meeting focused on finding solutions to the most common problems encountered by migrants and refugees in Szczecin.
