„Out of This World” Holidays
Holidays are under way and that’s why we also organize some holiday activities as part of our project. An integration camp organized by the “Na Całe Życie” Association took place between 5-12 July, near Krynica Morska, at the Ecological and Educational Centre in Piaski, at the very end of the Vistula Split. The camp, organized under a mysterious slogan “Out of This World”, included 35 participants, children of foreigners and Polish youngsters from the local community. Such a combination allowed them to get to know each other in free, informal circumstances, and the implemented programme favoured integration revolving around unique topics, tasks and initiatives.
The programme included recreational and sports classes, water games (swimming, motorboat cruises, sports competitions), target shooting using Air Soft Guns, but also art workshops and integration classes. The whole camp was based on the Association’s own programme, which main purpose was to support integration of the participants by means of a story theme game. Children were divided into age groups and took part in some theme activities. The youngest were “Superheroes”, the older group’s activities focused on the “Robots” theme, another group was proudly called “Time travellers”, and the last group consisting of teenagers was figuring out the mysteries of the universe while acting as the representatives of the “Aliens” group.
Our holiday makers learnt how to use the SUP boards, sailed on motorboats, sunbathed, built shelters, shoot at targets using short and long guns, learnt the rules of first aid, made their own soaps and knotted macramé, played tennis and futsal, did gymnastics, took part in beach tournaments,
a disco, bonfire as well as walking and bicycle trips.
It was an unforgettable adventure!
